In this week’s episode of the Gay City News podcast “Thank You For Coming Out,” creator and host Dubbs Weinblatt (they/ them/ theirs) welcomes Kelsey Bailey (she/ her/ hers) and Kelley Quinn (she/ her/ hers).
Kelsey is a performer/ dog-owner living in Brooklyn who can be found performing every Saturday with The Curfew and monthly at the LGBTQIA+ improv show “Here & Queer” at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Hell’s Kitchen. Kelsey is one-third of the high-octane trio Future Wives. She has been featured on Lifetime, Splitsider, Funny or Die, WhoHaHa, The Daily Dot, and more. She is almost always dehydrated!
Kelley is a New York writer, performer, and Missy Elliott superfan. She does improv weekly with her Harold team Game 7, and monthly with “Here & Queer” at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. Her credits include appearances on Viceland, Lifetime, and MTV, and her written work and web series “Straight Marriage” have been featured on Reductress, FastCompany, Stareable, Bustle, and elsewhere. You can find her at heykq.com and on Twitter at @heykq, especially if you are Missy Elliott’s social media manager looking for opportunities to connect Missy with fans.
As queer people, we are constantly coming out, and each coming out story is unique in its blend of humor, heartache, worry, and wonder. “Thank You For Coming Out,” inspired by Dubbs’ beloved live comedy show of the same name, pairs them as host with lesbian, gay, trans, bi, non-binary, and more members of the queer community to discuss their coming out stories.
Listen in to our 18th incredible journey into the LGBTQ communities’ vulnerable and often hilarious stories of coming out.
Presented by Gay City News, “Thank You For Coming Out” is one of the podcast offerings of Schneps Broadcasting, which also includes “Power Women” hosted by Schneps Media president and publisher Victoria Schneps-Yunis, “Brooklyn Paper Radio,” and “El Correo Radio” hosted by editor Karmina Fonseca.
